The Weeks Up To Launch (TWUTL) - Consideration of Existing or Emerging Tech in Our Game:
Our game is being developed using Unreal Engine, which although the engine provides tools for a ultra realistic experience, instead we use it to develop AI behaviour, low poly materials, characters, environment and physics projectiles. These for us are very important for the core gameplay and mechanics.
With the use of Git (and to an extension, Github) the team can through iterations of prototyping without too many issues and technical conflicts, which allow us to safely work on and quickly change mechanics like character speed and control sensibility, both core elements for the game.
In terms of difficulties, learning the AI behaviour / pathing and projectile direction were addressed, and were implemented as part of a new update for the prototype. Git contribution was a difficulty as well; however, we achieved our goal through communication between all team members.
